“Straight from when I was 9 years old and my mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, I understand that nausea is an issue and we can’t just push it aside.”
Learned so much from this meeting and gained additional insight and perspective on some common post operative issues. I have had 9 surgeries in my lifetime. None of them were elective or plastic surgery, but Kathleen addresses things like nausea, wound healing (terrible stomach scar from at least one surgery), malnutrition, and eating healthy when you just don’t have the strength to stand after a surgery. Some of you know what I am talking about! This even applies to major dental work in my mind. I’m on the recovery side of my recent dysphagia journey, so it was perfect timing as well.
We had a great time together on our Zoom last night. Thank you, Kathleen Lisson, for being such a great friend to me for so many years and sharing your books and knowledge for all who are trying to survive conditions and circumstances such as lymphedema, lipedema, and plastic surgery where little print items are available and doctors are sometimes not exactly helpful. Knowledge is power even if it’s just a starting point in one’s research. Can’t wait to see what you write next.
