Radio Taiso Move That Lymph Challenge Registration

For this challenge we are working with Lymphedema Therapist Kathleen Lisson to share a version of the popular Japanese Radio Taiso workout. This workout is highlighted in Stress Reduction for Lymphedema.

What is a Radio Tasio challenge?

“Breast cancer related lymphedema affects about 3 to 5 million patients worldwide, with about 20,000 per year in the United States. Promising research shows that doing Radio Taiso movements as part of a self-care protocol can reduce BCRL-related symptoms. In today’s exercise video, I will take you through a Radio Taiso routine. You don’t need any equipment, just some space to move around while standing.”

“Lymphedema isn’t just ‘too much fluid in the wrong place.’ Chronic lymphedema can cause both physical effects in the tissue and psychological stress, and both can worsen as lymphedema progresses. Stress Reduction for Lymphedema takes a look at published research on mind-body practices that may reduce the negative effects of stress in people with lymphedema, with step-by-step instructions so you can try many of the practices yourself or with a caregiver or loved one.”

You can get the book Stress Reduction for Lymphedema at the Lymphie Strong Amazon Shop here.

Always remember that we have lymphedema but lymphedema does not have us! There is no better time to join in the fun of moving while simultaneously increasing lymphatic health awareness to all around you in your family and local community.
